The talented Liz Linder and myself are hosting a boudoir party this Wednesday. We have limited openings & are offering our services at a tantalizing rate w/extra goodies!
I have special pre-Valentine's Day Boudoir sessions available at a secret location on Feb. 1st, 2012! I'll be photographing these along with another wonderful photographer, Liz Linder. There are 10 available openings. We'll be offering our subject's their image on a Valentine's Day card, gallery wraps, prints, plus two different albums. If you bring a friend, you'll get a 10% discount. More info to follow.
I love shooting events. They are so much fun. The DJ's at this party at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston, John Zucco and his un-named cohort (in last picture), were particularly "on it" that evening.
Here are some kitties available for adoption at the Animal Rescue League in Boston. Katie, the white-yellow one, has been put on hold, but Corey and Lynn are looking for their forever homes. Black animals have a harder time getting adopted, btw.
This image is 3. 5 years old, and I still like it. I took it at a gallery as a security guard came over to stop me. Sorry about the logo, but I'm sure you understand why it's there.
Here's some new jewelry (necklaces) I photographed by Jade Moran. She makes custom wedding rings, too, btw. You can visit her shop in Somerville, MA, or her online gallery, or while looking at a variety of work by artist's this weekend, at Somerville Open Studios from noon to 6pm. This was Samantha's first time modeling. Here is a lovely image taken at the The Hotel Marlowe. It's an old school "Barbie" profile image of her in hyper-stylized color.
I love playing around photographically, using lighting rules I know, but letting chance and spontaneity share the bill. That's the science + magic component, one of the aspects of photographing that makes it ultimately satisfying for me, and continues to fuel my passion, too. Thanks to Cori-Lynne Forbes, my model (+ photographer of me, too, for her class assignment).
Here are a variety of head shots I created of members of Team Northrup. I get great pleasure seeing these float by on Facebook, or used on web sites, etc. I'll be available in Freeport, Maine, to make more of these during the next retreat.
I love this still photo by Niko Tavernise from the film, The Black Swan. It's full of tension, which is enhanced by the minimally lit, saturated color. The costume is by Rodarte. The character's transformation and final dance was remarkable.
I recently did a boudoir session at the Liberty Hotel in Boston. I'm beginning to feel like the Liberty Hotel 'poster child' on this blog (except that I am behind the camera rather than in the poster). This was one of my favorite images of the afternoon, at least of what I am allowed to show you. ; )
I am often adverse to planning, so I think this ap is perfect for planning a wedding.
"iWedding Deluxe is a wedding planner and organizer app. It organizes, guides and inspires you while keeping all the vital information at your fingertips. Fitted with To-do Lists, Budgeting, Guest List organization and much more..."
And, yes, reserve a talented photographer, because after your wedding day, you'll have your love + the images to remind you of that special occasion. Your wedding photographs become more valuable heirlooms as time goes by.
Edana Spicker,a former art rep turned real estate agent, created a wonderful event with photography by 6 local photographers (myself included), plus live music, live models, a make-up artist, fresh oysters, pastries, and prosecco (my fave)!
